Beckham is 3 Months old

Here I am! Posting about Beckham getting one month older! Time is going by quickly, but I try to make a point to savor each day. With Cayden there were times when I felt like I was too worried about what the books say, or others say, when it came to "holding him too much" or not letting him sleep with me. I'm sorry for that now. I should have savored the baby time a little more with Cayden. So, that's what I'm doing now. I hold a little too much, and he sleeps with me a little too much, but I wouldn't trade that soft baby skin and thousands of baby kisses for anything.

Stats: He weights about 15 pounds. And through the very scientific method of holding Beck up to the giant ruler in Cayden's room, I feel that he is about 24 inches long.

Here is what our day looks like for the most part.

7-730: Wake and Nurse
830ish - Nap
930 - Nurse
1030 - Nap
1130- Nurse
1230- Nap (This is the longer one. I'll elaborate in a bit)
3-800 - More nursing, some napping
830-9 - Bedtime

If you do the math, you can see that Beckham nurses about every 2 to 2.5 hours. If he takes a longer nap, this time can be extended. I've been trying to put him down for naps in the pack n play, and not in the swing. It's a process. He will only sleep about 30 minutes in there, and then he wakes. There are a few factors to blame. I think that because he doesn't nap very long, by the time he does sleep, it is usually really close to feeding time, so he wakes up hungry. He also likes the swing. The past few nights have been really good - in the swing. Gah. I know people are rolling their eyes, and saying I would never let my kid sleep in a swing for that long. Trust me, I know. I will be putting him in his crib, upstairs in the near future. There won't be much sleep at first, but hopefully it will pay off.

BTW- Beckham slept through the night a few days ago. He didn't wake to nurse from 915-645. It was pretty nice. Cayden never slept through the night until he was one.

Here he is, just a few days old.

A week old.

Three Months old. Wow.

He was falling over in this picture, but it was cute.

The rest of these are just a few from the past couple of weeks.

His allergies are doing okay right now. I can definitely tell when I've eaten something I shouldn't. The rash is getting better, and the nights where he would lay awake and grunt because his tummy hurts are getting fewer. We have a busy schedule ahead of us for the month of October that includes a trip to the pumpkin patch. A year ago, it was just Cayden and Mills, and this year we add Beckham and Sydney! There is also a trip to Brazil for me in the works. I'm going to check out a few living possibilities and get a first hand look at what a city with 20 million people looks like. Yikes!

Beckham-

Thank you for being such a sweet baby. There truly is no better sound than your jabbering and your little laugh. You love standing on your legs, and you really aren't very good at just hanging out on your own. That's okay, we manage. You sometimes laugh at Cayden, and I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, but it's sweet to see. I can't wait to see how the relationship between you and your brother grows!

We love you lots!
Mom and Dad
